The Pizza luce Journey

In 1995, Marco and Sofia Lucchesi brought their family's centuries-old pizza-making traditions from Naples to Johns Island. What started as a small dream has grown into a beloved community gathering place.

Our wood-fired ovens, imported directly from Italy, create the perfect foundation for pizzas that honor traditional techniques while embracing local flavors. Every ingredient is carefully selected, every dough ball is hand-stretched, and every pizza tells a story of passion and craftsmanship.

The Beginning

Marco and Sofia Lucchesi opened the first Pizza luce with just two tables and a dream to share authentic Italian pizza with their new community.

2001

First Expansion

Growing popularity led to our first renovation, doubling our seating capacity and adding our signature wood-fired oven imported from Naples.

2008

Award Recognition

Received "Best Pizza in Charleston" award from Charleston City Paper, cementing our reputation for authentic Italian cuisine.

Second Generation
